Assistant Controller

We have a great opportunity for an Assistant Controller to help lead the financial department of our rapidly-growing company.  Reporting to the Chief Operating/Financial Officer, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities. They will be involved in supporting presentations to the board and will work closely with the senior leadership team.

The Assistant Controller will ensure that the company has the systems, processes and controls in place to scale and support large scale growth. In addition, the Assistant Controller will lead the implementation of the new accounting system. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain a strong system of internal controls and safeguards
  • Implement new accounting system
  • Coordinate all audit activity
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with other senior leadership
  • Prepare all required bank reporting including covenant compliance reports
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment

Skills & Requirements

    We expect to see:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Experience either as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or Supervisor for at least 2 years
  • Strong leadership skills
